Participating in case competitions has been a game-changer for me. When I first joined the MSIS program, I had no experience with case competitions. But in my very first week, I participated in EY case competition as part of the program. My team won the third place, but the experience that really stuck with me was how I was not able to answer any questions the judges posed to my team after our presentation. That experience motivated me to improve, and I went on to participate in numerous case competitions, winning an international case competition and being finalist at a national case competition. Case competitions have sharpened my problem-solving skills and helped me gain confidence in presenting and discussing my analysis. As a cybersecurity and privacy consultant at Grant Thornton, I analyse different business problems and present their solutions to clients on a daily basis. My case competition experience has translated directly to being able to do well at work.
